On the 2nd of January this year, Christopher White published a story that eventually went on to gain over 140,000 unique views; if you haven't already seen it, it's the "Samsung flips off Apple, uses same actress in ad" story. We set a record for online users in the forums a day later as well, clocking in over 25,000 online in the forums and over 50,000 across the whole site (main isn't counted toward what you see as forum total nr. of users online).
This in itself is great, if not for a missed alert at AdSense, alerting us that they had temporarily disabled our account due to a violation of their terms of service, the violation related to a thread from 2006 that somehow cropped up on their radar, it contained a certain keyword that mustn't be used, but after appeal the account was set to active again, but only after missing the traffic from the story posted on January 2nd.
So mixed blessings there.
I've also been sick since the New Year with a cold, not a flu.. but it won't go away. As I write this, my right ear has been blocked for a week and a half, both ears were blocked earlier this week but my left ear decided to clear within a couple of days. I went to the docs on Monday, and was told to just "sit it out", get lots of rest and drink plenty of fluids, which I've been doing. I've also got a nasal spray, paracetamol for my throat ache, and I do actually feel a lot better than I did at the start of this week, and last week.
But that is not all. Last week when I was the most sick, not thinking straight, I yanked a frying pan off the cooker after I finished cooking to drop it in the sink, forgetting that it still had a quantity of hot oil in it; the oil splashed back onto the top of my left hand, and, I have to say, it hurt like a bi**h! Overnight it ballooned into a blister, but after two days it started going down. I didn't go to the emergency room because it fell under the category of second degree burn under a diameter of two inches. Anyway if you're not squeamish take a peek at the pics I linked:

After three days: http://imgf.tw/796358859.JPG today http://imgf.tw/187126967.JPG <- looks worse than it is, is just a bit dry.

I hardly ever get sick, and when I do it's just a cold that lasts for about five days.
So 2012, I'd appreciate a clean bill of health for the rest of this year kthnx
