My new LCD: Samsung 226BW

after debating half a day whether to pick up the Samsung Syncmaster 223BW or 226BW (both were on sale here) i decided to dump my 6 year old 17" lcd (1280x1024, 260 brightness, 450:1 contrast, 16ms) and get the 22" 226BW (1680x1050, 300 brightness, 3000:1 dynmaic contrast, 2ms) for around 300euros including a 5 year warranty (i am now insured against ANY damage). it took me awhile to configure the colors and brightness/gamma but it seems to be seet up quite nicely by now. next thing i wanna upgrade is my small 160gb external drive (aiming for either one or two combined external drives around 1TB in total). well this was a short update on my pc hardware...thanks for reading my crap ;)

(sorry for the crappy picture, i used my mobile to make it)

So you think your better then me now huh?Just joking :D nice monitor! I just picked up two samsung 206BW's, and I love them!
Haha, and I just bought a Syncmaster 225MW.
Nice choice, I have the same one
Did you see their 30" one?! hubba hubba!
i was shocked when one of my mates got a dell 24". but opening the box if this beast and comparing it to my old 17"....haha man. i was literally wtf and totally speechless.
Nice one :)I bought my iiyama 22" widescreen last summer in a sale and loved it so much I bought a second one a day after the first one arrived (it was a web only sale) and the next day while showing a mate online I saw that the deal had ended.. LUCKY!I use Ultramon so my Windows Taskbar is used on the second screen, 2nd screen does all my IM apps, sidebar and Internet/E-mail checks if I am watching a movie. It is well handy like!

i took a look at the iiyama aswell, but it was the same price here and had lower specs. i never needed a second monitor, not even when i still had my 17". this new monster offers more than enough space and i'm semiblind due the colros and brightness ;)
Got exactly the same model in my House as well, love it great monitor. I agree it can be fiddly to configure and get right, but it's great when everything is configured! :)
As with an Samsung monitor with their crappy gamma controls (I own the 906bw), you should definitely head over to their site and download "MagicTune". It'll let you calibrate the image. The only downside is that you have to manually load the calibration profile after every restart.
i tried magictune, it doesn't really do much more than what i could adjust by pressing the screen's buttons. so i uninstalled it.

Did you bother running the calibration tool? I'm guessing not.
Nice monitor :)
Same as mine buddy, I love it :)
Yeah I have the same monitor - its awesome. :)
