My car... Is ill :(

Was driving into work on Saturday, saw my colleague, went in the overtaking lane to go past, then *poof!* bye bye engine power. Had to pull over :(
AA arrived, checked over the car, he reckons its either the engine that has seized (yikes!) or the starter motor that has gone.

Getting a lift into work each day is not the one let me tell you that!

Especially with all this pants weather in the UK!

/rant :(

Bet you were maxing it out really :p It is french so not suprised it died.

I can't see it being the starter motor. Did you keep on top with oil changes,top ups?

Unfortunately I wasn't maxing it. 50mph average speed cameras stop that! :p

Yeah I've been up to date with oil and the like. Only had service few months ago. It's been taken away now to be looked at so time will tell.

Turns out the starter motor was completely jammed solid. Replaced that and once again she roars.

Not sure if you can do it on a Saxo, but on a 205 and 106 you can fit a diesel starter motor. They're more powerful and more robust.

Ooh, didn't know that. The Saxo is pretty much a rounded 106 so it may be possible.
