Really? A blog? ... I spose.

How many DVD's is too many?

I've been off sick from work for 4 days in a row so far, which is really unusual. I've been so bored. Right now I'm in my bed looking at my DVD's on the other side of my room. I've got 2 bookcases filled with DVD's and there's more on top and on each side.

I watch a lot of films anyway, and I like to buy them mainly because when...

Playing Metal Gear Solid again...

I've always been a big fan of the Metal Gear series, I like the cut scenes, most of the voice acting, and the gameplay. Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite, yadda yadda...

I started playing the original MGS again, and when I first started it I had to put it down a few times.. It was so difficult at first! Its so much tougher than the more recent...

My Life Has Changed. Sort of.

My activity here has dipped as of late. In fact, my activity on the internet as a whole has dipped. Something changed in my mind and it's kind of ruined one idea of what I had thought my future may have held.

About a year ago I was running a mildly successful website - I'd designed most of it from the ground up, and I'd recently worked hard to...

Sennheiser CX300-II - Revisited.

If you've seen my Neowin blog before, you'll have probably read about my dislike of Sennheisers CX300-II - which everyone seems to buy, and say that sound quality is great.

( Old Post: http://www.neowin.ne...iser-cx300-iis/ )

Well, I offer up an alternative which is better in every way, for practically the same...

Why I can never really play games online.

The simple fact is, you're gonna have to devote yourself to that one game (or series) for years on end. I just can't do that - I've got other things to do, and of course, other games to play. I just can't keep up. I've seen it throughout the years - beginning with World of Warcraft. With this game, people always used to tell me 'The game starts at...

Arkham City thoughts.

Got the game on Friday evening, finished the main adventure on Saturday evening.

This is not a short game though. There is no point of no return, and there is a New Game Plus mode. There's a lot of side missions to do, and I completed about 33% of them, which means I've only finished about half the game.

Arkham Asylum has a much longer core...

USB Doesn't Do Everything...!

I guess this is a little rant. I work in retail and where I work we sorta specialise in cables and adapters and whatnot. E.g. If you wanted to convert Composite to HDMI, we can sell you some (expensive) kit to do it.

However.

The general public seem to think that you can convert USB into pretty much anything, and all it is is a cable with USB...

My [quick] thoughts on Rage.

To cut a long story short, the whole game was like a long story cut short.

Everything just happens so fast, you didn't really get time to know any of the characters, and as soon as you were getting comfortable dealing with an NPC, they'd disappeared or were inaccessible for the rest of the game. It's a linear game in a sneaky disguise. When I...

Strange Customer Indeed.

I overheard a colleague at work yesterday who said he had a customer stated he cannot read or write, yet wanted an android powered 'get internet on your regular tv' box.

Thirst Quenched!

I've had a bit of a Gamecube nostalgia attack (can it even be called 'Retro' yet?) and I decided to try and find the device, accessories and games without using the internet or eBay. Second hand stores, charity shops and thrift stores were my ports of call, and I actually did alright!
