I've always been a big fan of the Metal Gear series, I like the cut scenes, most of the voice acting, and the gameplay. Metal Gear Solid 3 is my favourite, yadda yadda...

I started playing the original MGS again, and when I first started it I had to put it down a few times.. It was so difficult at first! Its so much tougher than the more recent games It must be because there's no third person action or something.

But no, it was just because I was at the beginning. No equipment. Then it hit me. This was probably the last time a Metal Gear game was actually at it's most immersive. I mean, you've just infiltrated a base with no equipment, it's supposed to be hard. It would be.

And you have to use a lot of the equipment in your inventory that has sorta taken more of a back seat in all the recent games... like the Mine Detector or Chaff Grenades... These things can be left alone completely in the newer games but not with this.

But yeah, I'm really enjoying it now. It's a good nostalgia ride too.
