First off, just wanted to shout out this is Jase (Decaytion)
here on the forums, but I will be heading this thrill-ride of a blog as we continue to reach out to the users of GT-iMedia (aka iEnvy) and get in touch more socially.
Secondly, let's discuss the name iEnvy. Naturally, since this is a product targeted towards iPod/iPhone users, we slapped the lowercase 'i' in front to try and stick to something that will appear familiar to the casual Apple user... and Envy... well, we all know what Envy means, and if you don't...Bing Google it! The name sounds slick and cool, but as with all new software, changes are tossed around quite a bit in the early stages, so, we also would love to hear your feedback... or your suggestions on the new name. If you feel something else sounds better... then please, feel free to tell us, and we'll take it for consideration.
Next up, the website, http://GygaSoft.com/ --- the main site for iEnvy --- will be under a complete overhaul. If you head over there currently (at the time of this blog that is!) you'll notice the name GT-iMedia is plastered up, images seem somewhat overly compressed, and it's not really appealing... We had hired a designer to make this design and it appears he overly rushed himself at the time, or, just didn't care enough to put up something that is eye-appealing. The new design will be headed up by me, and coded by, that's right... me! I will be asking for feedback, or, better yet, what would you expect from a website for iEnvy. I know the concept will be geared for Web 2.0, with it being slick, and hosting a brand new logo to go with the name change.
The entire UI for iEnvy will be a completely refreshing design compared to it's former slacker, GT-iMedia, and will boast new features that I do plan on posting up here for your reading pleasure in a future blog post, I really won't expose them all though as we do want to toss out some surprises with the first release of iEnvy... also, we can't exactly say which new ones we'll keep, or toss out due to one thing or another, or if we add even more features... we want to make this release right the first time, and then start building from their with future releases. We also want user responses, what do you expect from this piece of software? If you owned an iPod or iPhone... what would you want from an Alternative besides the basics that iTunes has? We're really hoping for the users to give us the ideas and give us the list of features they want, so while we design and code it, it's really envisioned by you all.
Lastly, Anything you want to say, any comments, feedback, anything related to iEnvy, GT-iMedia, or GygaSoft, feel free to ask us or express your thoughts here in this blog. This blog will continue to explore what's going on, on the inside of iEnvy, and deliver an easy way for you, the user, to find out new releases, news, or any other tidbits we find might be useful!
Thanks for reading... and I hope, as well as Antonio (GygaMan), to read comments from our users, and future users!
