Two months ago I applied to be a Microsoft Student Partner, not with much confidence mind you. A few weeks later I received an e-mail that read
This e-mail was amazing for many reasons however there were two that were clear. Firstly I would get to be surrounded by what I enjoy the most, technology whilst being given the opportunity to try new things. The first awesome experience came when I was invited down to Microsoft's Reading HQ. I'm pretty jealous of the guys that get to work there needless to say.
Two weeks into the program and I have already done a talk to 300+ students in my university's largest lecturer theater. Needless to say it was a nerve racking experience but I got through it and walked off with my pants being dry, which is always a good thing.
I already have some ideas for some events to host at the university so I'm hoping that my organization skills pay off! An incredible fun, exciting and knowledge-gaining role that I'm eager to continue delving in.
For students that are thinking about going to university next year, I recommend this program highly. Like me, I'm sure you'll gain new friends, experiences and knowledge.
