Life as a Microsoft Student Partner

Two months ago I applied to be a Microsoft Student Partner, not with much confidence mind you. A few weeks later I received an e-mail that read

Quote

"Congratulations!

Thank you for applying to be a Microsoft Student Partner. I’m delighted to tell you that your application has been reviewed and you’ve been accepted onto the program for the academic year 2011 – 2012!"

This e-mail was amazing for many reasons however there were two that were clear. Firstly I would get to be surrounded by what I enjoy the most, technology whilst being given the opportunity to try new things. The first awesome experience came when I was invited down to Microsoft's Reading HQ. I'm pretty jealous of the guys that get to work there needless to say.

Two weeks into the program and I have already done a talk to 300+ students in my university's largest lecturer theater. Needless to say it was a nerve racking experience but I got through it and walked off with my pants being dry, which is always a good thing.

I already have some ideas for some events to host at the university so I'm hoping that my organization skills pay off! An incredible fun, exciting and knowledge-gaining role that I'm eager to continue delving in.

For students that are thinking about going to university next year, I recommend this program highly. Like me, I'm sure you'll gain new friends, experiences and knowledge.

Nice! Amazing what you can do when you thought you couldn't.
I knew a MSP. The program was horribly organized and the metrics were pretty funny. Hopefully it has gotten better, and hopefully you like it.

I heard some bad things about the bad organization in the past. It has got a LOT better. Everything that is needed to do it well is provided. :)
I tried applying but the form says deadline is on September 2011...is the document outdated?
or will the regristration start on another time??
Amazing......................
So why dont you give us a post post...be truthful. Have a set ood preo but also have a set of cons talk about successess and some things you learned because of a mistake..which is simply the best learning tool. Anyone who has succeeded usually has an anormous amount of failures because they tried things and imprtant things and when you have a large victory no one remembers your failures...Do you know how many times Thomas Alva Edison failed before he created a light bulb that worked?? NO why? because people only count success. Well he had about 50,000 failures gefore he hit the right combination. so if he can be view a genius when 1 out of 500,000 tries worked there has to be something true about what I say
