Over the past couple of years I've had my fair share of 'gaming' headsets. Let me first start by saying that the job in which I purchased them to perform, they all succeeded perfectly well.
I've owned a couple of different brands ranging from Microsoft (I know, I know, not my best decision there), to Razer and finally to SteelSeries. In terms of audio and microphone quality they were all perfect in every single way. Not only this but they also were easy and comfortable to wear for extended periods.
You're probably wondering what I'm getting at? Well none of these headsets lasted longer than a year. This wasn't just me having this issue either, my brother stopped purchasing them long-ago after he found out how terribly unreliable these products actually are. Whether the issue was, the left speaker ceased to function or the microphone stopped transmitting, all of around six headsets died.
The worse of all is how reliable my other equipment is bar these hideous head grappler's. Seriously my; monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers all lived for around three-to-five years, while my headsets barely got to celebrate even one of my birthdays.
So from this day fourth, I vow never to purchase a computer headset ever again...
