conna
I have a windows 8.1 32 bit that I want to upgrade to 10 soon . I realize I have to go with 32 bit 10. Can I wipe and reinstall a 64 bit version of 10 on it later without a key. Or should I wipe the computer and install 8.1 64 bit and then upgrade to 10. This is why I like good old fashion paper COA's
Yusuf M. Veteran Posted August 5, 2015 Veteran Share Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) I don't think that's possible. Your only option is to install Windows 8.1 64-bit first which you can download here. Create a bootable ISO file with the tool and then perform a clean install. EDIT: Actually, I think it's possible. All you need is a 64-bit Windows 10 ISO file. n_K
If you have an upgrade for w8 then I think you'll need to do the upgrade first on 32 bit then do a clean 64 bit install, otherwise it won't pick up the license and it'll ask you for a CD key.
