Samsung managed to disappoint a great many people last month, when it revealed that it has no plans to bring its new Galaxy Note 5 to Europe and many other parts of the world. The device was unveiled alongside the supersized Galaxy S6 edge+, and it seems the company believes that selling two super-premium handsets in each market isn't necessarily the best idea.
But while Samsung's latest stylus-toting device won't be available in Europe, the handset's predecessor is at least getting an upgrade there, to the latest public release of the Android OS.
As SamMobile reports, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop is now rolling out across Europe for the Galaxy Note 4, after previously being made available in a handful of countries there. The update is now making its way over-the-air to devices in various European markets, and is also available to download via Samsung's KIES software. Once installed, the device's firmware will be bumped up to N910FXXU1COH4.
The Galaxy Note 4 is among the devices that Samsung has so far confirmed will be eligible for upgrade to the next major OS release, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
