MacBook Pro default behavior?

Recommended Posts

Could someone with fairly recent model of their MacBook Pro check how backlight should behave when you do this.

Shutdown (not sleep) laptop with AC on so that the brightness is full. When it is shutdown remove AC and then boot and check if the backlight is reduced or is it still full?

Mine remembers the last setting it was given. What version are you on?

10.10.5. It's weird that it doesn't detect it on boot but does so if you remove the AC when laptop is on sleep. Most Windows laptops do detect the AC/Battery in both scenarios.

I've just tried it and it definitely works on 10.11.3, maybe it's something they've fixed?

Maybe, I should try to update. What model do you have?

Just to confirm what you meant by it works. Do you mean it remembers the backlight level you had when you shutdown or did you try this? Laptop with AC on so that the brightness is full then shutdown (not sleep) . When it is shutdown remove AC and then boot and check if the backlight is reduced or is it still full?
