Upgrade from a GTX 650

Hi All

 

In the past you guys have been very helpful in advising about my pc components. 

 

I'm after some more advice again. I have a Asus GTX 650 graphics card and would like to upgrade to a better gpu to play games like gta 5 and far cry 4. 

 

My current build is i5 6500, corsair vengeance 16gb ram, Gigabyte z170m gaming 5 motherboard, fractal design integra m 650W psu, 250gb samsung 850 ssd, 

 

What kind of GPU can I get as an upgrade from a gtx 650 for around £100?

On my phone...sorry. I do not think the 750ti is a worthy upgrade. Check out reviews of it and the 650 trails it in benchmarks...but is it worth the 100?  The 750ti is now "old"...anyway my recommendation is to save up a little more and maybe hold out for the yet unannounced 1060/1050....which will probably be within your price range.

I am having zero issues with an EVGA GTX 750 ti for $119 USD it is worth it unless you can afford the GTX1070 which is priced less than $400. USD.

Yeah, 750Ti isn't that much of a upgrade. Although I have a Gigabyte 750ti, I don't game like some of you.

I don't think that is in question ... but is it a worthy upgrade over a 650...especially with the 1050/1060 probably going to be released in Q3 (between Jul 1/Sep 30)?  Instead of jumping one generation ... I would jump at least two (while the 10xx series are three).  

 

Then again ... if £100 is the absolute cutoff price ... I guess the 750ti would have to do...but I personally wouldn't recommend that path and instead save a little more.  Anyway, I wouldn't get anything less than a GTX950 coming from a 650....or just hold off until the 1050/1060's which are around the corner.

For less than $400 USD I would get the GTX 1070

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll hold off and save a little more and wait for the new releases.
