Sony brings its new Xperia X and Xperia XA to India

Sony unveiled its newest line of smartphones at this year's Mobile World Congress back in February, and it's now preparing to launch two of those devices in India. Both devices will ship with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow onboard.

First up is the upper-mid-range Xperia X, which offers these key specs:

  • 5-inch IPS LCD with Full HD (1920x1080px) resolution, scratch-resistant glass and oleophobic coating
  • Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC
  • 3GB RAM
  • 64GB storage (plus microSD card support up to 200GB)
  • 23MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, HDR support, and 1080p video recording at 60fps
  • 13MP front-facing camera with HDR support and 1080p video capture
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • NFC
  • FM radio
  • 4G LTE connectivity with dual-SIM support
  • 2620mAh battery
  • 142.7 x 69.4 x 7.9mm; 153g

The X will be available in India from June 7, priced at Rs.48,990 (around $730 USD), but pre-orders are already open.

The second device is the more affordable Xperia XA:

  • 5-inch IPS LCD with HD (1280x720px) and scratch-resistant glass
  • Octa-core Mediatek MT6755 SoC
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB storage (plus microSD card support up to 200GB)
  • 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, HDR support, and 1080p video recording at 30fps
  • 8MP front-facing camera with HDR support and 1080p video capture
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • NFC
  • FM radio
  • 4G LTE connectivity with dual-SIM support
  • 2300mAh battery
  • 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.9mm; 137g

The XA is priced at Rs.20,990 (roughly $310 USD), and will be available in India from the third week in June.
