Arrow Launcher, a Microsoft Garage project, has been updated to version 2.0. The main feature of the update is Office 365 integration.
Here's what's new:
[Documents page] Sign in to your Office 365 accounts to read and edit your documents! You can also find and upload your on-device documents to Office 365.
[New Wallpaper] We have refreshed the stock wallpapers for you.
[Memory & Performance] We have reduced Arrow's network activity by 50% to help you save some cellular data usage.
Interestingly, the app actually gives the user the option to sign in with either a consumer Office 365 account, or a work or school account. Many apps - such as another Microsoft Garage project, Hub Keyboard - will only allow for a work or school account.
Even Cortana only allows the user to sign into a work or school Office 365 account. Adding consumer accounts to the Arrow Launcher app is a big step forward from other trends that we've seen.
You also won't be required to have the Office apps installed to open and edit your documents. If you attempt to open a document, spreadsheet, or presentation, it will prompt you to download Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, respectively. If you decline the offer, it will open the file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
The last big update that we saw for Arrow Launcher was back in April, when Microsoft added Wunderlist functionality.
