Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems on Asus N750JV / nvidia GeForce GT 750M

On my notebook I get with the latest nvidia drivers the message "Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems" in Device Manager. (nvidia driver 372.70 and also in earlier in the 37x.xx range).

However, when I roll back via DDU and install via Windows Update the nvidia drivers - which is 359.64 - the device is recognized properly in the Device Manager.

 

What is the issue here? Why can't I just update to the latest drivers without problems?

I have installed all latest BIOS, firmware etc for my Asus notebook N750JV.

 

OS: Windows 10 64 bit AU with all latest updates 14393.105.

Is there any reason you need to upgrade? "Don't fix what is not broken"

 

As for Win 10, I'd wait out on latest drivers. Because they just aren't working, from what I heard around.
