Administrators Posted December 2, 2013 Administrators Share Posted December 2, 2013 I have two SATA ports on the back of my PC and was hoping to hook up a spare SATA drive I have, to use as a backup drive, but when I search around for enclosures they all seem to want to do Sata -> USB conversions? How can I hook up the spare drive to the back SATA ports for a better performance than the USB 2.0 ports I have? :P *My board is a ASUS PK5-E (SATA 2/USB 2.0) I stopped using an external USB2 drive (Toshiba 1TB "book" or something) because of the terrible performance and drastically slower boot times as well, but I still want to be able to backup my data to a second drive :P. +theblazingangel MVC Posted December 2, 2013 MVC Share Posted December 2, 2013 Finding decent enclosures to stick standard internal HDDs in I've found to be difficult. You might have more luck searching for HDD docking stations, which in my opinion are a better solution anyway.
