Strange Symbol as appeared after logging in

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am just after a little help on my Windows PC.

I logged on this afternoon and found that all my desktop icons have a Grey Circle with a Green one inside it on them.

Can anyone tell me where this came from please?

I have not installed anything apart from windows update.

Any help greatly appreciated.  Picture attached.

Looks like some kind of encryption program, have you checked the machine for viruses/malware/ransomware?

Looks like an icon overlay possibly from Bitdefender Safebox. Do you have that installed?

Green dots that you reported in your post belongs to Bitdefender Safebox.

Somehow you managed to sync your desktop with Safebox( Right click on desktop<choose add to Safebox).

In the future, in such situations, go to "My Bitdefender" <Safebox and then delete all data that can there be found.

At the end restart your Computer.

Green dots indicate the synchronization with Safebox
