Xbox One and MKV files

I've done some research.. But still confused..

 

I've read that the October update will let the Xbox One support x264 mkv files natively.. Is this out yet? I see that Plex is out.. But, doesn't that transcode? I am not a fan of transcoding and just want a pure stream like I get on my HTPC..

Yes you will get this support in the next update, as for plex, im not too sure, i have looked when playing files and its not transcoding...

It may be coming across all of MS's products soon as well. I remember reading somewhere that they would finally build in FLAC and MKV support. Don't remember where, though.
