so far it looks pretty good, the major complaint (and i understand its not final code) is that you can see him walking through stones and rocks and things on the ground.

I think that if at least half of what is shown in the video actually makes it into the final game then it'll probably be an amazing game.

And while the combat does look similar to DA2 it looks more refined.

Coming off the 1st game, playing the Demo of the 2nd game, had my hopes up.

However, what ended up being the 2nd game caused me not to trust Bioware anymore so I know longer pre-order games from them based on good faith.

Ugh, It looks exactly like DA2's combat system, which I hated.  Overall DA1 was a better, richer experience with a vastly superior plot.

I thought DA2's combat was fine. Main issue with DA2 was that development was rushed so there was a ton of recycled environments, and the plot went full retard in act 3 (act 2 was actually really great though IMO.)

DA:I will have longer time in development, so I have hopes it will easily be much better than DA2.

I loved both of the Dragon Age games. Origins was a more involved RPG, 2 was a bit better balanced on lower difficulties for people that don't pick up RPG's so easily, From what I can see though I was one of the few people that actually enjoyed DA2. Given how good the storytelling has been in the series I look forward to seeing what Inquisitions holds, but I won't watch this video as I dislike spoilers

Yeah I am sceptical of bioware, feel burnt after DA2, wasn't even a shadow of the glory of the original.  still despite the updated combat system this does look good, kind of reminds me of the Witcher 3 (from what we've seen) maybe even slightly skyrimish.

I just wonder what happened to the uh..warden guy from the first game. And that the people from the second game were supposed to be setting off to look for. It's been a long time since I played either game so I don't remember the names exactly.

And between DA:I and The Witcher: Wild Hunt, 2014 looks like a good year for rpg games.

I believe Mike Laidlaw said that the idea is you get a new protagonist every game. The Warden is mentioned a few times in DA2, and I think it will be the same in DAI

Varric makes a return and Cassandra (The interrogator in DA2)  will also be there.

I see. So are they going to have it so choices made in the previous games affect things in DA:I? Like if your character made the sacrifice or not and so many others?

I'm curious to see how it will go. And this talk of dragon age is making me want to bust out DA:O and give it another play through, I haven't played it in a long time.

It most likely will - Just as the case was in Awakening and DA2. It was nothing more than references in DA2 as far as I remember. Awakening didn't have much to offer either as far as my memory goes.

Dragon Age Keep is a new tool being developed by Bioware so you can customize your world state exactly as you want it, with all the choices from DA:O and DA2

Cool, hope to be able to play this! Currently doing DA2 for the first time on PC, and it's a big improvement on DA:O. So Inquisition should be much nicer still!

You're probably the first person I've ever seen say DA2 is better than DA:O, what improvements do you think there are? I loved DA:O but when DA2 came out I didn't have much free time and everyone said it wasn't as good as DA:O so I never actually played it, considering playing it now I have some time.

DA2 wasn't as good as DA:O because it had a few major shortcomings due to rushed development (the main issue was lazy and heavily repeated level design), but it wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, it was a decent game. Personally, I liked the combat in DA2 better, and liked the addition of a voiced protagonist.

People forget that DAO was made over 5 years hence why it was more polished. You can't repeat that within 2 years and with a major expansion inbetween.

Thanks for asking. As VIper said, fully voiced main character, and Hawke is a pretty cool guy. Smarter storytelling for my money (the difference in cup size on Bethany between the totally-fake retelling and the mostly-fake retelling was funny in my opinion), better graphics, and much more balanced difficulty. Even on easy DA:O was crazy hard at points, while DA2 is much more balanced. I also don't mind most of it taking place in Kirkwall, it's more focused that way. Just a matter of taste, had really high hopes for DA:O when it came out but found it lacking in visuals and design.

The new trailer looks amazing.

Personally I actually prefer the combat of DA:2 over DA:O. But the story and game play were overall better in DA:O over DA:2.

Delayed until November

Dragon Age: Inquisition Update

From Mark Darrah, Executive Producer of Dragon Age: Inquisition

I?m writing to let you know that Dragon Age: Inquisition has a new release date of November 18, 2014 in North America (November 21st in EU). We appreciate the enormous support we?ve received from all of you to get to this point, and while this extra few weeks may not seem like a lot, I know the game you?ll play will be all the better for it.

Since we began working on Dragon Age: Inquisition almost four years ago, our goal was to create the best Dragon Age experience ever. It was that goal that motivated many of our decisions: moving to Frostbite, bringing race choice and customization back, improving tactical camera, building a team of characters whose relationships evolve based on your actions, and most importantly, crafting an epic, nation-spanning story that both draws upon past games and takes you to many new places in the realm of Thedas.

I?m privileged to be a part of a team that has been working very hard to surpass every measure they?ve set for themselves. That has meant completing huge amounts of game content, fixing bugs both big and small, and improving the overall experience. This last bit of time is about polishing the experience we want you to see. Ensuring that our open spaces are as engaging as possible. Strengthening the emotional impact of the Hero's choices. And ensuring the experience you get is the best it can be in the platform you choose to play on.

Thank you again for your patience and support!
