WZOR Talks About Windows (Codename) 9, Is a DP Imminent?

Recommended Posts

WZOR has posted a blog about IE11 with Enterprise mode for win7, guess it's because people are not interested in win7 IE11, let alone enterprise mode, so didn't notice his side-note on Win9:

Since the blog has a link to the leak of win7 IE11, I covered the URL in compliance with Neowin rules.

LOL, what to do on a boring Sunday?  :)

Play with universal apps, of course! But forget the emulator, I really want it on my phone.

Windows 9 doesn't even seem to be coming at BUILD in April... so I doubt a Developer Preview is imminent. I very much would like to be wrong, though.

Put a DP on your phone and risk bricking it? I'll pass. :)

As for the win9 thing, time will tell ......... LOL.

Isn't there a rumor going around that the new version of WP will be called WP9 instead of WP8.1

Could this be related?

I haven't heard that rumor.

I think that MJ Foley mentioned it on WW

I don't remember WW exactly but maybe she said that because it's such a big update they could've called it WP9 if they wanted? And if you think about it they could have, it's a massive update. I still think they'll call it 8.1 to match Windows 8.1 with 9.0 versions coming in 2015.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a update 2 later this year for Windows though but only time will tell.

There is a nice chance that we will see a Windows 9 beta at Build, after all, we're 1,5 years after they started working on it (August 2012). I've got good hopes, also looking forward to Windows Phone 8.1.

I don't think its windows 9. its probably another 8.1 update. perhaps update 2.

In the new windows release time scale, Win9 should be out in the time an update 2 would be out....

We know AngelWZR & Stealth do not talk bulls, but I checked the 3 places I know, all I found was 9600.16404 ..... they have something I/we don't have? :o

Edit: it seems the MS win9 guys had picked one of AngelWZR/Stealth's apps to test download, and so the build appeared in their statistics :  :)

WZOR? I though they had been tracked down already...

Anyway. I am happy MS is moving forward with Windows 8 and including things their customers want, even if I had no problem with using the OS.

Windows 9 will never be free for the general public, unless that's the most basic "starter" version rumored in that article.

I seriously hope they don't go with that offline gimped mode idea though. Offline should be fully functional with added functionality when online and then subscriptions can play a role depending on what that means.

With the release schedules speeding up I doubt Windows 9 will be free for traditional 10"+ display devices/PCs.  What MS can do is lower the retail price for us though, part, if not most of, the reason why Windows costs $100 or more at retail is because it would traditionally ship a new version once every 3 years or so.  But if they're going to release a major version more often, 1.5yrs or so, they can and probably will drop the price for it.  I expect Windows 9 will go for the same low price Windows 8 had at first as well, $15 for digital and $30 for the DVD if you want it.

After that they can do another update or 2 for free before they release Windows 10 and charge again for that one.

........ans.

Actually some people suspect that the "current WZor" is not the "old WZor", when win8.1 update appeared in MSDN, WZor posted download links in twitter and made it appear like his own leaks, then people found out he just quoted the links from TPB posted by a pra** guy. The "old WZor" never did that kind of things. :)

Ugh. I really don't want a damned cloud OS that resides on some server, just let me pay my money once and run it off my own hardware, K? I really hope the rumours of this one are wide of the mark.

Maybe Wzor is a group of people. They could switch places for the main Wzor every year or every time suspicion is aroused, so all suspicion isn't on one guy.
