Abhishek kapoor
hi... I am planning to purchase 1 TB portable hard disk. Use will be to store data no need of backup software. Need suggestion which one is best for fast data transfer and reliable.
Auditor
I think passport element has 2.5 inch drive. WD is very reliable drive and I personally own my WD drive and never had any issue with them. If you don't really need faster transfer speed then WD portable is good option as it is small and efficient.
Lord Method Man
http://www.wdc.com/en/products/external/portable/ The Elements doesn't have features like backup software, cloud, or hardware encryption.

ESC@PE
If you are manually backing up the files (ie; dragging and dropping onto the drive) yourself, the Element is a great option.
