Config screen every time during RAID boot?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

I have a Z87i-Deluxe and 2x120gb 840 EVO SSDs that I currently have setup as RAID0. These comprise a secondary volume for games/apps, and my main Windows drive is a seperate non-RAID 250gb 840 EVO. Every since I setup RAID, everything has worked perfectly, but I get this screen every time on boot:

Basically boots to RAID config every time, and then re-starts the boot process and goes into Windows just fine.

Any idea if this is working as intended, or if I need to do something to get rid of that screen during boot?

Thanks!

The screen you posted is normal to see at every boot when you have a RAID configured. It doesn't actually restart POST again, it just continues. I would suspect something else causing your improper shutdowns.

Hmmm, ok! It goes back to the ASUS logo though, which usually shows during boot. Is that normal?

I'm very familiar with ASUS boards and it is normal. Happens on all of mine.

Not sure what the best course of action will be for you to address the improper shutdowns. Either post details from the event log here, or create a new thread?

Did you by chance update you bios recently?  I had a friend who had raid 0 and after updating bios ran into the same issue.

Hmm, I did! But I hadn't tried RAID before updating. According to Xenosion, this is normal on Asus boards, so I guess it's just the boot process with RAID!
