Not too bad. I'm checking around too on the US amazon and seems they didn't go down yet but not bad price after all.

They probably have to because of these:

They perform the same as the 840 EVOs yet are cheaper (used to be by a lot, but the EVOs are now dropping fast). And with perform the same I mean that in benchmarks it's about 50/50 win-lose with very small margins.

It is because the new 850 pro ssd's are coming out. Those are way faster than the competition which had already overtaken the 840 pro such as the new sandisk.

Actually, they aren't any faster. They are at the same speed, cut by the SATA III limit.

Not true, go read the anandtech reviews, random reads and writes are way faster in the 850 pro.

AFAIK, it is limited by the SATA speed, not as to what the disk can do. In real life scenarios, this does next to nothing.

 

except if you move off SATA and get the M.2 boards

 

I didn't even get into M.2 yet. I barely know anything about it, other than its great speeds.

You don't know anything! Random read and write is real life scenarios. Sustained throughput is maxed but that is only if you are transferring large files. Installing programs, launching programs etc uses random read and writes. There are plenty of real life applications tested in the anandtech review but instead of reading it and finding that out you just say that the speed is maxed with no evidence so support your claims.

I meant its maxed out on the SATA II (3GBps) connection, not SATA III  (6GPs). Sorry about that.
