Last year, at its Worldwide Partner Conference, Microsoft made its Surface RT tablet available to attendees for just $99, and the deal was so popular that the company sold over 16,000 of them at the event. This year, Microsoft's deal for those attending the event is all about the high end, with a discounted Surface Pro 3 bundle on offer.
From today through to July 18, attendees will be able to purchase a Surface Pro 3 i5 256GB tablet with a black Type Cover 3 for $1199. The retail price for the two items usually totals $1428, so those buying the bundle at WPC 2014 will save $229 (or 16%) on the normal price.
The promotional discount is available to Partners (All-Access), Exhibitors or Sponsors (including Booth Staff), and External Speakers (non-Microsoft), as well as analysts and members of the press in attendance. Only one bundle can be bought per person, and purchases will be charged the applicable local sales tax in Washington D.C.
