Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone bumped to version 6.0

Facebook has updated its Messenger application for Windows Phone to support some new features, and bumped the version to 6.0 on the platform.

Messenger is the standalone application for Facebook users to chat with other Facebook users, and was launched on Windows Phone as a beta three months ago. After receiving an update to reduce data usage, the application has once again been updated by the company with new features which were already available on other platforms.

The update, which is now live on the Windows Phone store, features the ability to send images and videos with one tap -- which was introduced in the iPhone version of the application in version 5.0 itself, released in April. Other changes include the introduction of latest stickers and performance updates specific to the Windows Phone operating system.

Although Facebook has been late to launch the Messenger application on Windows Phone, the company is making sure that all of its features from other mobile operating systems are available for users of Microsoft's OS, and this update narrows the feature gap further. Interested users can head to the Windows Phone store and download the app for their devices right away.
