Trying to make a shutdown shortcut on the desktop

Recommended Posts

On Windows 7  I right click desktop, creaet new shorcut, and in the location box type
shutdown.exe -s -t 00 -f

I get the  message "shutdown.exe not found"

IF I change it to just shutdown without the .exe I get the same message.

I must be doing something wrong? Maybe its a permissions thing?

you're going about it slightly wrong. you don't want a "shortcut"

the command is right but you want to put it in a batch file (create a text file & change .txt to .bat)
