would you ride this coaster?

The world's tallest roller coaster won't even be made until 2017 and this is just a demo video of what the roller coaster is going to feel like but I'm already scared. Skyscraper at Skyplex in Orlando will be the tallest roller coaster in the world at over 500 feet tall and you ride the thing all. the. way. down.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't know which was way up, down, left or right after that first turn.

I so would!!!

It's allt eh way in florida!!!!! :( I wish kings island would or cedar point would add this instead of just rebranding the mantis to rougarou :( that is so stupid they just rebrand and add different seating for a mehcoaster instead of getting something like this!!!! cedar fair is so lame. They won't get anything over 5 inversions and I'm not waiting close to 2 hours for just 5 inversions and a 1:05 duration ride. I hate cedar fair  company :(

I'd ride it in a HEARTBEAT!!, but then I've jumped out.of perfectly good airplanes too. Where do I sign up? :)

I wouldn't touch that thing! Don't do roller coasters anyway!! All I can think of when riding one is that it's going to fly off the track, which I have seen happen once when I was in the Army in Georgia at a carnival that was in town.

Don't know what you would've called us Doc, fools or bird s**t then, you remember that saying, right, as I've also jumped out of perfectly good airplanes when stationed in Georgia at the Go Airbourne school! Think I definitely classify as a fool as I had a nice cushy desk job in the Army as a clerk/typist-personnel records specialist. 71L/75D

Carnivals and amusement/theme parks are nowhere near the same thing.

As to the coaster - yes, on my first FL trip after it opens I will ride it.

Totally. It looks to flow really well too which is a pleasant change from a couple of twists, a loop and bobs your uncle, fanny's your aunt.

However... Florida, so no, i wont be riding it any time soon. I'll have to stick with Oculus version :p

Thing is cedar fair could add some mean 4d coasters that I would love to rode for a cool 7-10 mil but they spend 10 mil rebranding mantis to rougarou??? that pisses me off. That is so cheap and lame.

I knew some one would come by with a comment like that! True, they are different, but then that's when I start thinking about how complacent the people working at a regular amusement park would/could get working on the rides. At least with a carnival, you know it's been very recently put together, so you would/should think it's safe! Either way, that's about all I can think of when riding just about ride is it breaking!!

Having built and run a mobile Skatepark, i know how quickly this sort of punishment affects equipment. I'm much rather ride something in a fixed location that is maintained.

Thing is theme park rides are way more expensive and have higher standards then carnival/county fair rides.

The average coaster costs 15 mil.

That's a no brainer to say how quickly the punishment affects the equipment and that's EXACTLY what runs through the back of my mind!

Not going to argue either of those facts although cost of the rides should not matter what so ever! The standards part shouldn't really matter at all either, as we are talking about safety here.

Not trying to argue any part of what the difference between a carnival and a theme park is as I know. I'm just stating that the scariest part of any ride to me is the safety of that ride and how well it's put together and maintained. We all know how complacent people can get at their jobs so it's way to easy to overlook something that might seem like nothing at the time.

The only rides I do not like at theme parks are wooden coasters and they are way too rough my sis did get hurt on one "adventure express" at kings island and it even made me sore and had a bit of a headache. That ride sucks.... hella long wait for it, crappy experience because the whole thing was cheesy and cheap and the coaster company that made it was bankrupt (found out a while after) before we even rode it.

I rode the beast and I had to take a beastly dump after it did some crazy stuff with my bowels lel.

The smoothest rides there was Invertigo, Flight Of fear, and a couple other ones I forget the names of (steel inversion type)

One thing though I will never forgive cedar fair/point for getting rid of disaster transport that was amazing and so was flight of fear. at least they still have flight of fear.

Hi! The only thing I'm really excited about is getting my house back to normal.... and I wanna ride some coasters and get a windows tablet for x-mas

That looks totally insane, i would love to go on that!

The Smiler at Alton Towers here in the UK has 14 inversions, that's the most crazy roller coaster i've been on so far.

Ive not been on it, however the Gravity Max in Taiwan is disassembled as you ride towards the drop, which then assembles itself by tilting the entire track down to connect to the rest of the ride. I think that would be a pretty awesome experience too.

The difference, by and large, is the oversight. Carnivals, there is basically none. And there is little in the way of liability. In an amusement park, both are done by the company and regularly done by OSHA and other agencies.

Also - yes, its just put together, but it was also just taken apart. Who knows how many times that bolt has been crossthreaded. I'm the opposite. You couldn't get me into a carny ride no matter what. But I'll do any amusement/theme park attraction without a second thought.
