The Pirate Bay possibly looking to make a comeback

The Pirate Bay's servers were raided on 9 December 2014 and the file-sharing website ultimately shut down. There were numerous attempts to reincarnate the website but the site itself remained inaccessible until today.

According to TorrentFreak, The Pirate Bay's (TPB) nameservers have been updated and the main domain is now pointing to a new IP address connected to a server situated in Moldova. Moreover, when the site itself is visited, a waving black pirate flag can be seen, which although is not definite proof of the site's return but certainly gives some hope to TPB's fans.

Interestingly, the source of the site also shows that it is hosted by Isohunt's 'Open Bay' site. The Open Bay initiative is a program to facilitate anyone to run a 'copy' of the notorious file sharing website, which of course has its own legal risks. However, Isohunt has responded claiming that it has nothing to do with this apparent 'comeback' stating that:

They simply included the video from our domain. And right now we have no idea what the TPB crew want to say by this.

Details remain unclear leading people to speculate whether the website is actually about to make a return or if it's just another clone. A co-creator of TPB, Peter Sunde, previously stated that he hoped the site remained closed forever, and later, one of TPB's administrators claimed that a reboot is possibly on the cards, but what form it will take is yet to be decided.
