iPad sales fell from 26 million to 21.4 million compared to the year-ago quarter

so what if they sold just a few less ipads. I guess a lot of people already have one, so that explains it. I can't find a use for tablets so I never used one but my parents have two (a mini and a normal one) and a lot of middle-aged people prefer them to cheaper androids

Apple is going down :)

iPad selling less obviously the 6L just made iPad Mini disappear in near future.

The net profit in 3 months is something that will be in books for several years to come. I can only imagine Xiaomi competing with Apple, and its a copy-cat of Apple so its kind of funny how Apple just swept and gave a classy example on "How To Make The Best SmartPhone". Flawless.

Congrats to Steve Jobs vision, he made this possible, even after dead he had it all written down, Tom just pushed it to the end.

Imagine a world without iPhone we still be using flash videos on keyboard phones, and infrared connected phones and so on....a nightmare that didnt happen for long.

I hope MS will make a comeback, i think they are now on right track and we will be seeing good products and most important better Software.

I don't see Xiaomi competing with Apple given that Apple banks on the Apple brand as a status where as I'd say that Xiaomi is competing with the likes of Samsung but even then you might find that a good portion of Xiaomi's sales come down to the 'home team advantage' of patriotic purchasers in much the same way that it took Apple ages to crack the Korean market given the giant chaebols such as LG, Daewoo, Samsung and others playing in the market.

For me I'm always dumb founded that Microsoft has done such an appalling job at taking advantage of their enterprise contacts and making their phone a first class citizen at the centre of their middleware and server offerings. Windows Phone should be *the* phone for anyone using Microsoft's own server and middleware not to mention cloud offerings yet you go into a enterprise workplace that is all Microsoft and yet there are iOS and Android smartphones and tablets - it befuddles me.

But as, I think Tim noted, you have the iPhone 6 Plus cannibalising on one side with the Mac cannibalising on the other side with the launch of the 12inch MacBook Air probably accelerating as some realise that once they buy an ipad with a case and keyboard that they would have ben better off getting a MacBook Air for the same or cheaper price.
