Outlook: .COM vs national TLD (like .FR/.DE/.IT/etc...)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have discovered that @Outlook.com is more secure because it support DMARC features on email protection, and the @Outlook.XY (where XY= .DE/.IT/.FR/etc...) don't support DMARC.

It's a big security risk?

I had checked and Gmail and Yahoo support DMARC in every extension (For example. @yahoo.de)

All the major solutions support it.

Jeez what is your obsession.  You don't seem to understand a lot of what you talk about and yet seem to talk about it a lot.

You truly seem absolutely paranoid!

I'm asking only why there is difference in security functionality from the .COM and the .DE domain

If you analyze the outlook.com vs outlook.de you can see that the first support DMARC and SPF, but the local tld like .DE support only SPF.

As the .COM is A grade and the other extension are C grade....

The same, live.com and hotmail.com... they don't support the authentication based on DMARC

Nothing you do about it...  MS devs in the Email dept are the ones who use the service in their servers...  as long as they work.  If not, they can easily replace/upgrade with something else.

If you don't like the one you use, then find alternative email provider that suits your needs.

Wait, are you the same guy obsessing about emails not with holding account name after X amount of time?

Yes i'm the same  :|

But the problem that I have found it's true

While you do raise some valid points, please answer the following:

Do you work for

1. FBI

2. CIA

3. NSA

4. White House

5. Any form of government with CLASSIFIED that may threaten national security?

If non of the above

1. Are you a child molester who emails child molestations to other child molesters for their own viewing pleasure?

2. Sell drugs over email

3. Sell porn over email

4. Sell email over email

If not, then you my good sir, deserve the neowin award for:

You do have some foundation, just a bit... but A BIT tad over concerned?

Edit: Don't you think if these were major security concerns they would have been addressed by major email providers... I don't mean to rain down own you, but I think you could better spend your time in something else, if not, then bring teh craziness on and i'll be sure to join teh club

I can reply NO at all the question.

I understand what are you say, i'm simply asking why on .COM there are some funcionality against phishing that on .DE are not implemented.

Only this.

Sorry if I had disturbed the forum

Hey, it's better to act a fool then remain ignorant for life, like I said, your question is very much valid, a tad far fetched, yet valid! Keep bringing the good stuff!
