Servo: Sci-fi RTS from Age of Empires creators

Recommended Posts

Several of the core Age of Empires creators are teaming up with Stardock to create a new kind of sci-fi real-time strategy game. Servo is being revealed at GDC and on the web on March 2nd, and we are stoked to get this in front of RTS fans of all stripes.

Not sure why it just doesn't seem like an RTS for me. Possibly the concept of RPG features being pulled in...

I really wish a modern Rise of Nations style RTS comes soon. One I can play in about an hour, realistic in its structure, fun to play, and not full of micromanagement.

... Dammit. Progression systems have finally invaded RTS's.

Yeah I am not interested in this in an RTS. Just don't see how this makes sense...

Back in March I was told this is Steam only because it uses SteamWorks in this thread but since then Stardock has released some of it's games on gog.com and I see it on their "upcoming" tab.  I guess gog.com doesn't do betas or "early releases" or whatever but I'll definitely take a look at the game when it launches.  Thanks for making that a possibility by allowing a non-Steam version.

(To those reading this if you like Steam that's great! I don't want to turn this thread into a giant Steam debate and I'm absolutely not saying it shouldn't be on Steam as well.  Some of us prefer not to use steam though so having a non-Steam OPTION is appreciated).
