Study on penises reveals the average size ... and it's smaller than you think

A study of more than 15,000 men finds the average penis size is just over 5 inches, experts say

It's a finding that could bring relief to millions of men.

Although six inches has long been the accepted

Ha! Just like just all aspects of my life, I am not average! :)

Wonder if this has anything to do with why my Grandma always called me peculiar? :s

I must have had a bad circ job, cuz though I'm a *little* bit shorter than "average," the many flaccid penises I've seen in my life (don't judge, I work in healthcare, and I went to grade school, lol) many have always been bigger than mine.  I know the whole grower vs shower perspective, I just think it's so bizarre.  Like, WHY is one guy a "shower" and one a "grower?" Is that, too, a genetic variation?!  Or is it just cuz I've been slightly to moderately overweight since (before actually) I entered puberty, and essentially suffer from a mild case of turtle penis?  :-p

I think this makes me a *LITTLE* more comfortable being the way I am...  I just wish I wasn't on the low end of normal :-/

Uhhhh, yea, only adults.  Shouldnt even be a question.

Nothing to do with legality.  A medical survey into penis sizes is not a sexual thing, and if they measured at different ages - then that would be valid scientific research.

I ask because boys have smaller penises than men (as a rule) and wondered if that was dragging this supposed average down.

It does say right in the graphic they were trying to determine the average penis size of MEN. Obviously, the average size of anything would be meaningless unless they were all fully grown adults. The average penis size is what it is... No one is dragging it down.

Yes thanks, I understand how a mean average works, and as such - yes some population clearly  pulls it down from a higher trend.

Sorry, but 5.21 inches when fully erect...That is seriously smaller than I would have assumed an average - based upon considering myself average - based upon showering with peers.

And yes, it says men, but doesn't define - I can read thanks.  So I was clarifying if that means developed.

It ain't all about the size of the boat, it's about the motion in the ocean

That takes you so far, and quite frankly I would guess it's probably a fair way, but nobody goes to NYC to go up the low-rises ;)

Penis size insecurity is a huge problem for men and this happens irrespective of actual penis size. Primarily due to porn and the social pressures around penis size. It is something that I hope can be addressed in some manner.

For myself, I viewed myself as below average and "super small" for a very long time. That is primarily due to the only others I have ever witnessed, especially in a fully erect state, were in porn of some form. This is even though my fully erect size is such that it doesn't make it on the chart by a small amount. This is even with my wife telling me that I am far from a very small penis. But when your reference is an unrealistic measure then you'll still see the problem as existing when it doesn't.

I learned, eventually, that the issue is all in my head and eventually was able to understand that there is a LOT more to sex than just the size of your penis. if anything, a bigger penis is a problem more so than an average sized one. It took years for comfortable sex with my wife and even still there are issues at times. Sex is never good if it ends up with your partner in tears...

I'd honestly trade mine in for something that is closer to the average shown here for sure.

"some population" No mystery here... It's men with penises smaller then 5.16" that are bringing the average down.

"based upon showering with peers." Exactly how many men have you showered with to determine an average penis size (the study was 15,000) and why are you looking at their penises to begin with?

"So I was clarifying if that means developed." Huh? I am guessing English is not your first lanuage because I have no idea what you are trying to say.
