cosrocket
I want to purchase a desktop PC which comes with Intel 4600 graphics. My 27 inch monitor's reolution is 2560x1440, so I cannot run the monitor at full resolution with 60MHz refresh rate with either the built in DVI or HDMI port. So I need a recommendation for a graphic card that has a display port so I have no problem driving the monitor at full resolution at 60MHz. I am not a gamer so I'm just looking for a card with a display port that is quiet (if it has a fan) that will allow me to do this. I would appreciate some recommendations. Thank you. T3X4S
any modern card with displayport will work - just grab a $75 nVidia - problem solved
Jason S. Global Moderator Posted March 25, 2015 Global Moderator Share Posted March 25, 2015 Intel's own HD 4600 spreadsheet says it'll handle up to 4k w/ HDMI, albeit probably 30Hz. I have no doubt that HDMI will accommodate 2560x1440. http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/performance-xeon-e3-1200-hd-graphics-p4000-guide.pdf that's 60Hz, btw, not 60MHz

That's not correct, at that resolution you'll have no problem doing 60hz on HDMI. It's 4K that's problematic. The Intel integrated graphics might be too slow for the games you might want to play, but that's another issue altogether.
