Sandy
Hi Guys, I'm looking for a new laptop, just for General Surfing and Watching HD Video, maybe occasional gaming. I have found this one so far http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-17-7746-laptop/pd?oc=cn74604&model_id=inspiron-17-7746-laptop which works out to cost
link6155
How something from the surface? It fits your budget and your needs. Gaming on the Surface Pro 3 is quite possible, there's just a few games that are too demanding for it. Could you specify what games would you be occasionally playing? Go for the Pro if you playing some of the more modern games. But if you're just playing casual/lightweight games, maybe you should wait for the Surface 3 which was recently announced. If you're just surfing and watching video, it sounds like an even cheaper laptop might fit your need just fine. FunkyMike 1 Share

I wouldnt spend money or a second considering a "quite possible" gradient456 1 Share
link6155
I wouldnt spend money or a second considering a "quite possible" A bit of an understatement on my behalf, it runs most games just fine. Also, the OP stated that he would only play games occasionally so I don't know exactly what his expectation is. T3X4S 1 Share
TPreston
No complaints about the 7746 (apart from the obligatory mechanical drive which should be swapped out asap) The epic battery life, touch pad , premium construction and 17" touchscreen are its best points. The graphics card can handle most games at 1080P just not crisis.
Fezmid Reviews Posted April 2, 2015 Reviews Share Posted April 2, 2015 I just reviewed the Dell XPS 13. The model without the QHD+ display and touch might fit your needs. It's good for casual gaming, and some people in the comments have said they've played some decent games at low-to-medium resoluion. For web browsing, videos, etc, it rocks. https://www.neowin.net/news/dell-xps-13-review-sexiest-ultrabook-on-the-market
Sandy
Thank you for the suggestions guys! Just to provide more information, I would rather have a laptop than the tablets as I currently do have a 17" screen therefore would prefer 15"-17" screen size. This will be used for work also, gaming will be a rarity but I did mention it as I do want the laptop to hold up over time.
