A little off-topic, but I kind of assumed Polyphony was based in Japan, not Venice Beach.

edit: wait, they are in Tokyo.

There hasn't been a war between the two until now. You always have to steal a person from a rival company who makes a rival game series in order for it to be considered a war.

Since one was stolen, A war between the For a and Grand Turismo game series has begun.

War? GT always wins.. Always.

As someone who used to buy each new generation of Playstation purely for Gran Turismo, I can't really agree. Forza knocked my socks off when that came out, especially by the time we got up to the PS3 / Xbox 360.

Car sounds on Gran Turismo have been well off the pace for some time now.. Forza has blown it into the weeds on that area. So about time they're getting a handle on it.

I think even when the newcomers come in (Driveclub) and do audio better on the same platform you simply cannot carry on without improvement! I know Evolution have been making Motorstorm for a while but Driveclub was their first go at something more realistic.

I just remember playing the first GT when it first came out.. It was my favorite game forever.. I guess I can't really let something replace it.. :D

Ah no. Lol.

True. Gran Turismo can never match Forza in the car department. GT had about 30 cars which had full interior view, the rest were all ported from previous GT games and had only exterior views. Lazy developers at Polyphony.

This Friday, I'm hoping Project CARS blows both Forza and GT out of the water in its own unique way. Just enough cars and lots of track variety. A REAL racing game and not some car collection DLC money making exercise. Just because the audio lead guy from Turn 10 is with Poly doesn't mean crap all. There's more to a game than sound, and the sounds from Forza lately have just been ported from older versions, the sounds in FM3 were distorted and awful (I drove a Nissan Silvia Q13 for an extended time fully tuned, the sounds were terrible, too loud and distorted, ruined one of my fave classic Jap tuners.)

Poly are welcome to him :) Won't make GT any better :)

Make up your mind ;)

also interesting how you praise PCars when the general attitude seems to be the the simulations is sub par or has problems, and it's severely lacking with cars, mostly focusing on a very small selection of high end pure racing cars. Now you say that Forza and GT are all about selling DLC, where do you think you'll get new cars for PCars from?

30?

Do you even bother to research what you say? GT5 is around 200. GT6 around 440.

From DLC of course, but I hope they won't go over the top like Turn 10 do with their "Pay

I wasn't speaking of TOTAL number of cars, I was speaking about how many cars had INTERIOR views, and were not PS2 ported standard cars. Here, read THIS.

That IS the total amount of premium cars. All premium cars have fully modelled interiors and cockpits.

The total amount of cars in both PS3 games is over 1000 in each...

Does it still have all the horrible little cars like Citroen 2CV in it? Pah! That was what made up most of the cars in GT5. I didn't buy 6 but who wants to drive half of those snail like cars in a racing game?

EDIT: Just looked at a car list, they do have ancient cars but do still have tons of variations of same model car! Exactly what I'm fed up of! Anyhow, it's going off topic, I've said my bit.

I just bought a Thrustmaster R300TS wheel + Gran Turismo 6 recently. Nothing beats this game in term of simulation and content. I was not happy about GT5 when it was released, and playing it with a gamepad in this modern era of racing game felt like I was also missing a huge chunk of the game.

That's why I didn't bother with GT6 in the beginning, but now since I decided to buy this wheel + the game, I'm enjoying it a lot.

I mean, GT is a good game, but that's just factually wrong.

What beat this game in terms of simulation then on console ?  Have you tried playing with a real wheel ? Not those cheapass G27, a real one like the Thrustmaster T300RS

Even  on PC, the selection is bad. I know about Project Cars and such, but let's be honest, it's not that good.

Forza and Race Pro destroy GT6.

What war? Gran Turismo has been a has been franchise since Gran Turismo 4. It's funny that people still expect PD to make a good car game when they take as long as 2-3 games from the competition to come out and still have cars from the PS2 or the same Nissan Skyline over 20 times with slightly different specs to beef up the car number. A farce is what they've become and that won't change now that one developer that used to work with the competitor has joined the crew (especially when it's in the audio department).

And Project Cars NOT THAT GOOD??? On consoles maybe, Digital Foundry didn't have nice things to say about the framerates on there, but it's hovering around 85 metacritic right now.

THIS! ^^ Definitely this! Recycled cars are what Polyphony are good at! Wanna drive a 2CV that only does 30mph and takes an hour to get there? Sure, hippies, we'll cater to you!
