cyberslam Posted May 25, 2015 Share Posted May 25, 2015 hi, I have recently got very much interested in the visualization especially after our company migrated to the virtual environment around 6 months ago. Now, i am seriously thinking of studying about it and giving an exam i.e. VCP-DCV. Unfortunately, i have found out that that you will not get a certificate upon passing the exam unless you study from an authorized VMware training institute. Is it so? If this is the case then self-study is out of option which is how i have been studying all this time in my career so far. Please advice... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You can still do self-studying but will eventually need to take an official class online in addition to the exam to receive certification. The reason many vendors do this is to insure those being certified have an official base and are taught by people that know their stuff. You will also see this with ORACLE for their higher end certifications and for some of the Red hat the classes are not required but it may be impossible for you to learn the ins and outs of what you are trying to learn without them. It must be from an official trainer/partner/etc. that is authorized to give the courses, so they can official sign off on you having successfully completing the course.
