Microsoft Lumia 435 available for just $50 from Walmart

Microsoft's entry-level smartphone, the Lumia 435, is now available for less than $50 from Walmart.

The Lumia 435 launched earlier this year for a price of roughly $95 in the US, but the phone can now be availed with a T-Mobile connection for just $49.88 from Walmart. There is no binding contract with the device.

The Windows Phone 8.1-based smartphone features decent hardware specifications for an entry-level device, which include a 4-inch WVGA screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, a 2 megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. There is no 4G LTE on the device, but it does come with 3G HSPA+, WiFi and other usual connectivity options.

It isn't clear whether this is a promotional offer or a permanent price cut, but those who wish to buy a capable entry-level device that can be later upgraded to Windows 10, this seems to be a good time to do so.
