deathoffleas
Hi Community I',m looking for some advice on free back up software that is simple to use (scheduled and low resource hog) for my inlaws laptop. The drive that the back up will be connecting to is on their network and accessible wirelessly only. Windows own backup software can't connect to a network drive from their version of windows. Any recommendations? Thanks
bluesman86
That's strange. Which version of Windows are you running? Have you tried to map the network drive in "my computer"?

+Warwagon MVC Posted July 7, 2015 MVC Share Posted July 7, 2015 Hello, Have you looked at 2BrightSparks' SyncBack or Centered Systems' Second Copy? Regards, Aryeh Goretsky Great software. Over the network should be fine. If in the future you would want to use it to backup to an external drive connected to the computer with the bacup software installed I would then recommend buying the program to support drive names instead of drive letters. Because my drive letters of external drives i plug and unplug never seen to stick. But, for just a nice static network location, you should be just fine with the free version. goretsky 1 Share

James035
Personally, I use a hybrid approach which combines both local backups and online backup.I have been using Carbonite for a few years. True, the initial backup takes a LONG LONG time, but It
