0 lardiop Veteran Posted May 11, 2004 Veteran Share Posted May 11, 2004 This is my configuration: You should change the max connections to a much higher level. I find that the optimum level for network.http.max-connections is around
0 Hat Fanatic
While we're talking about tweaking FF: I recently switched back to FF because I found out that All in One Gestures's autoscrolling has come quite a long way and is pretty nice now, but I still feel it could be a bit smoother. Is there any way to tweak this?

0 neoufo51
OMG guys. Just download it, scan it for viruses if you don't trust me, whatever. I put all the info you need on the read me I put inside. The tweak works like a charm. By the way, Lardiop. I can tell by your sig that you have very good taste in women. :D Edited May 11, 2004 by neoufo51

0 bayrider
what if there isnt a users.js file in that folder? will it still work if its not overwriting anything?
0 neoufo51
what if there isnt a users.js file in that folder? will it still work if its not overwriting anything? You aren't supposed to have a user.js file in there already. The point is to add something that is not there. Just put it in and start up Firefox. 0 [bear]
yes, users.js isn't in the firefox directory by default. Also i would recommend getting the chromeedit extension for firefox.. it makes editing easy.. its all inside of the browser with the touch of a button! 0 MxxCon
You should change the max connections to a much higher level. I find that the optimum level for network.http.max-connections is around 100 EXTREMELY bad idea. you are needlessly hammer servers w/o any improvement in performance. your connection is not laggy AND fast enough to warrant such setting plus with http/1.1 you should worry more about pipelining requests rather than plain ones

Yeah, 100 connections really isn't doing anything. Stick to 48 or less if you have cable.

0 neoufo51
What kind of performance will I be seeing? If you have dial up, a very noticeable increase in render speed. If you have broadband, a lil.

0 Jason the Eighty Eighth
isn't it true that those tweaks are dependant on your internet speed? that tweak won't work well with someone who has a slower or faster download speed than you.
