For those new to msstyles:

You have to patch your system to use msstyle files.

You can see instructions and file to use here:

https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707

cancel any windows file protection prompt and allow (click yes) to keep unrecognised file types

You do not want or need the uxtheme.dll on your xp disc, that is what your are attempting to overwrite to use the uxtheme that enables visual styles.

Give it between 10 seconds- 2 minutes for the windows file protection to appear- sometimes it takes awhile.

After you patch and reboot, and download any visual style you would like to use, extract it to

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes and click the msstyle file in the appropriate folder

for example, for Velox you go to:

C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes\Velox and click Velox.msstyle

or alternatively, you should find it in the drop down box on the Appearance Tab of display properties in Control Panel, when you

correctly extract the file to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes

Dont forget to install any included fonts that come in visual style packages to c:\WINDOWS\Fonts

The "Velox" fox character was created and a visual style soon came afterwards.

Enjoy!

Includes shellstyles and compact/normal start menus

And in some options menus of miranda it cut me off some words..

Well, it's not really my style or something I plan to ever use, but it looks like a well-made theme. I think a little bit more interesting taskbar would compliment everything nicely rather than a solid gray one. Maybe just a slight gradient or something.
