Here is my Firefox config values I played with.
Tested with my 2.5mbit DSL connection.
It should work for DSL/Cable users.

Not intended for dial-up users!

To start:
1. Open Firefox.
2. Type "about:config" in the adress bar.
3. Find these options, double click each one and change to below values:
CODE
network.http.max-connections: 48

network.http.max-connections-per-server: 24

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy: 12

network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server: 6

network.http.pipelining: true

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests: 8

network.http.proxy.pipelining: true

4. After changing the values just close Firefox and open it again.

5. All Done. Enjoy the speed! biggrin.gif

Alternative:
"Tweak Network Settings" Firefox extension.

Very handy extension for faster changing above values.

Anyone know what to change to make it faster for 3mbit cable? I'm a new Firefox user, so I haven't figured everything out yet. I'll at least try this though. Thanks

[edit]Works well. Thanks. Still looking for 3 mbit setting though, if anyone has them smile.gif [/edit]

What about 11.0 Mbps, Mega-Bytes per seconds I'm guessing?

biggrin.gif I might change my mind to FireFox because it is not built-in to Windows XP, none of my friends use it, SP2 security is almost the same except i.e has no DL manger.

How can anyone notice a speed difference above 2mbit ? It loads so fast... what difference does it make... half a milisecond faster ? noexpression.gif

I tried the settings on my 4.5mbit connection and I noticed no difference no.gif
