eXeem .25 Beta out

For anyone who still uses the program, the new full .25 Beta is out. No adware or spyware this time too.

Changes in eXeem version 0.25:

* removed adware (only html ads will appear in the program now)

* unicode support

* color coding the state of a download

* support for external (imported) torrents

* support for non-skinned gui

* enhanced rendering of comments

* service for testing open local ports

* the progress of metadata download is reported in the progress bar

* support for external torrents

* faster searches (udp)

* downloaded items are highlighted in search and new files view

* downloads are not removed from the download list when removed from the network

* duplicate comments are not allowed

* block level download graph

* column widths are remembered between sessions

* columns are auto resized when double clicking the right column header edge

* better translation support

* enhanced error messages

* lots of bugfixes

If they hadn't put spyware in to begin with then this could have been a success... now it is too late.

I remember when Exeem was first in private beta and everyone was really excited about it, it was a "revolution" in the way Bit torrent worked and would solve the problem with BT sites being shut down and stuff.

But in reality, this is a centralised P2P program like most of the old ones, the only difference is that it uses the Bit torrent protocol for the downloads themselves.

When this was announced on Suprnova, it was said to have no spyware in it, only ads. Then it was found to have adware in it, so they released an updated with no adware in it. Supposedly.

But look here, another update once again saying they've removed all of the adware, somehow I don't quite trust them.

The program itself is pretty bloated too, yuo may as well use Azureus which has everything eXeem has and more, with the exception of the search, but you can use sites like torrentspy and isohunt anyway.
