Which country (or the union of countries)

Well 2030 is only 25 years away, I imagine the US will still be the most powerfull but I dont think it will take too much longer for China to take it's place.

Economically, probably China. They may, though, be setting themselves up for ecological disaster as they don't seem to care about pollution at all.

United States will probably remain the key military power.

It's "Brazil", with "Bras?l:)" as capital city :)

But anyway, Brazil will never be a world power because corruption is part of it's culture. It's a country that can't be brought togheter.

Yes, I'm brazilian. But I left it.

I believe the USA will still hold the #1 position in the near future.

By 2030, still the USA but their economic grip will be weakening.

The EU has a real problem with an aging population (so does the United States but their old age security system is less generous than Europe's).

Canada is fairly well poised for the next 25 years (but 2x nothing is still nothing :D ).

China...but it really depends by what you mean as "powerful"...Economically, China.  Technologically, Japan/US.  Industrially(sp?) China/US

Ditto, this topic is very broad. Voted for China anyhow.
