temple_treefrog
Does anyone else use widgets? Personally I use the BitTorent search widget. Has anyone else found a decent one?
Steve Gosselin
Yeap, I use BitTorrent, Currency Convert, Unicode Charts, The Colours of the Rainbow, GTranslation, Password Generator and BjustB. :)
:No-Frost:
Till the moment I use the weather widget called touchthesky... pretty good indeed ^^
ozgeek
I find them useless. I only have a couple games (connect4, round-tetris, crosspuzzle) incase I need them to pass the time while downloading stuff.
ravix7
I have a few games I don't this the weather widget 'touch the sky' is up to speed, I don't think it's a bad feature, I don't really mind whether it's included or not included. If there was a better weather one that would be great. Just tried the BT widget then, don't think it's useful as you can just search for torrents with the address bar. mikeS
It's pretty useless for me as I feel that the launching speed of Opera has decreased since I have upgraded to version 9. I think it has something to do with the widgets so I am looking for a way to DISABLE it.

Kraftman
No / No (N) Widgets were an awful idea. Opera is a browser, not an eye-candy machine. Also, BitTorrent support is pretty lame too IMO. You will never get the same power and control if you have an all-in-one app.

It's purpose is to heglp the non-tech users more easily download torrents AND help legitimize torrents and become more adopted. It does serve a purpose, but not the same one as stand-alone clients. I can respect that reply  You are right in a way. I mean, average Joe who has been sent to http://torrent.ubuntu.com will not know how to use the torrent. GameMaster90
No/No Stupidest idea for a browser, I hate it passionately. :shiftyninja:
Subw00fer
I use only 1 widget and that is the Yahoo one for weather. I hate how the Opera widgets stay on top (you can put them in the background) but then they clog up your toolbar on the bottom. Lame idea, needs work. illegalStuff
The only one I use is the Translator widget. I find it really useful.
Net-Margin
Although I very rarely use the widgets I have found them to be a good idea and I am actually glad that they was implemented into Opera.
Quillz
I don't use that many widgets, but I did find a useful one called the "color picker," where you could see thousands of different color hex codes.
SnoopZ
Yes i use Touchthesky weather widget alot and the currency/translation ones.
1759
I find the widgets pretty useless too, it's like Opera wanted to copy extensions from FF, but didn't incorporate them in a useful fashion. They would've been better off extending User js functionality IMO.

vinczej
I use some widgets frequently. Some are very useful (Simplest Clock, TouchTheSky, Goal'06 (during WC), BJustB, TouchTheScreen, Param Google Search), and some are nice (Function2D, Function3D, HTML/Css Editor, Games, etc...). And of course, Stay Secure widget! I like them all. :) With WirtuaWin I use a virtual multiple desktop, and on the 8th desktop I open my (actually used) widgets simultaneously as "Always on top". fanboynz
If I were to use "widgets", I wouldn't let a web browser handle them. It'd be a separate application.
Slimy
It's a web browser. It shouldn't be anything else. If opera was smart they would have a custom installer that you could choose to remove widgets, the bittorent protocol etc. - or just a slimmed down installer, that would work too :)
