There's a new engine on the block, it's not Google, but it's powered by it! SearchMash is its name, and finding what's relevant is what it does best.

"It's quite a challenge really: how does the Number 1 search engine on the web rewrite its search algorithm and test its effectiveness without hurting its current results and user-experience during the testing process? Sergey Brin and Larry Page seem to have figured it out: create a new search engine, and do your testing there! SearchMash is the evolution of Google, and should things go right, what Google will (soon enough) become. It tests a range of new features and methods of bringing information to the users' fingertips in more ways than immediately obvious to the eyes."

I like Searchmash...I use it now and again but use google more just out of habit...might set searchmash has homepage tho..might make me use it more smile.gif

That's the spam filtering at work - refer to the argument. Because they use the same indexes, the results would be the same, but for the modified algorithm. Less results = more relevant results.
