Actually I tend to suspect that pinball is Gates' favorite game, but it was dropped from Vista because it was considered old-fashioned.

Does anyone know how to trick this into installing on a normal Vista machine?

If you do an administrative install of the msi you can get the files from there. Sudoku should run fine on Vista. You can even get it to run on Windows XP following the directions found here:
