Aero Pure Theme 1.0 Unpimp Your DesktopInspired by Aero Diamond and AeroClear Glass. Blue progress bars taken from Aero Diamond to more closely match the theme's color palette. Modification/simplification of Aero Glass for enhanced usability and productivity. ---------------- - Download VistaGlazz 0.1 and use it to patch your uxtheme file. Do not modify your settings for transparency on maximized windows if you wish to keep you window borders opaque.
- Unpack theme in Windows/Resources folder
- Double-click Aero Pure.theme and select theme
- If you wish so, deactivate transparency in Window Color and Appearance (right-click desktop and select Personalize)
---------------- List of modifications: - Replaced progress bars by blue ones from Aero Diamond
- Replaced initial red close buttons by plain ones
- Removed Patterns in window borders (top + sides)
- Removed trace of eraser behind window titles
- Removed green lines around active window
- Decolorized Aero Basic theme
---------------- This is a minor mod, I'm not pretending otherwise, still I believe these small modifications add up to make a pleasant and subdued theme for everyday use. Props to mclaren2 for his blue progress bars, they make a world of difference.

Nice. It appears to be a very subtle edit, which I like. Many of the other mods I've seen thus far have just been too radical for everyday use, this one is just as nice as the stock Aero Glass.

One suggestion: To complete the look, make the menu bars gray. The default purple-ish colour doesn't fit with the rest of the theme.
Otherwise, great work.

geo411m: Just activate option for transparency on maximize in VistaGlazz, it's as simple as that.
+Mephistopheles: I don't really share your opinion on the menu bars. They're a pale-blue color and fit accordingly with the blue and silver widgets from Aero.
Thanks to all for the positive feedback. This thread has seen over 900 view in 4 days, which seems to indicate a fair amount of interest. Evidently, the Neowin admins have moved it into the Completed Visual Styles thread, and I guess it is completed, except for a few minor bugs which I have given up on.
If you like this Visual Style, and think it enhances your daily experience, the best thing you can do is to spread the word.

Hey, that's beautiful! I've been missing some non-transparent sharp, well-defined skin for work, and you delivered - big kudos and thanks! (and if I may, I second the call for a variant with desaturated colors inside window - just simple gray would be most welcome )

my favorite theme by far - it removed all the extraneous eye candy from the original aero glass and i'm in love!
