I'll download the Fluxbox version, I always liked the simplicity of Flux!

Also (don't mean to troll) however am I the only one that finds it ironic for a Windows enthusiast site with it's own Linux distribution? Maybe I've been missing out on the general ambiance of Neowin as of late (since I keep up with the postings through RSS feeds) and Neowin is continuing it's growth into more than just a Windows enthusiast site. Well, it is but this kind of makes you think about it and assert that fact.

Neowin has been a great place for "technology enthusiasts" to hang out. While Windows is a lion's share of the desktop market, there are other technologies out there that garner a good degree of interest. In addition to the Windows sections, there are Linux and Apple sections here, as well.

Starting now...

Actually, it is still doing the "download" part, but will be seeding them in a few hours (based on the estimated time reported).

Yeah, Shift Linux only asserts that further ;)

What are the official md5sums? Should be posted, so people can verify download and burn integrity.

now don't get upset about this question but...

aside from this being a "community" version of Linux, what exactly does shift linux offer that any other distro doesn't?

It's been answered before, so I guess it won't hurt for me to answer it one more time.

This is primarily a learning experience for those involved. Even with my minimal involvement, I have picked up a few things and have tried new items (though, frankly, my kids' football schedules keep me from getting too involved).

Also, when Ubuntu was first announced, the reaction was pretty much the same "why another distro?". Having a Shift Linux doesn't hurt anything, and if a few people enjoy the learning process, so be it.
