obsolete_power
This is really quite genius of Apple. It is also very ballsy of them. View the video
Janitor
Actually it's pathetic. Apple is basically telling people what to do, sort of like bullying. If Macs are that good, then people will switch by themselves.

The Macintosh was the first personal computer with a GUI on the market. It also introduced the mouse.Windows is the wannabe. Microsoft was forced to as an order from court.Apple could have fared without them, to tell you the truth. Microsoft was a Plan A for Apple. Sam Symons Veteran Posted November 22, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2007 Youtube has always had the most intelligent posters... +1 At least one of the posts I read made sense. Apple's ads, to me, seem like they just bash Windows, instead of stating the advantages of a Mac. The "Don't Give up on Vista" is a classic example. A flashing message saying "Give up on Vista"? Bravo, Apple. Bravo.
obsolete_power
Whoa, if that was an actual webpage that would be sick! Actually it is. The ad shows up on Engadget.com, News.com and PCmag.com so it is very real and if you refresh any of the 3 pages mentioned, eventually you will see it too. That for Apple is called free advertising. They only paid to have this on 3 sites and yet its reached Neowin, Youtube, Digg and probably hundreds of other sites. They are a lot smarter then you give them credit for.
Windam
this is the worst ad I've ever seen If apple needs to insult windows to gain market share then their OS is underdeveloped with cheap tricks.. IT'S OFFICIAL.. YOU SUCK
Cormier6083
Apple and Co. are doing this for a reason. Steve in this (3:55-3:57), says that Apple is compares things to show what people are using today. I guess that's what these commercials are. While whimsical and humorous, it shows how some Windows users have problems on their machines.Lord knows I'm one of them. It does bring them attention -- but is it good attention? People might think, "Oh look, all they can do is bash the opposition; what are the reasons to buy their product?" It does get their name out, though :)
Master^IT
Hahahaha..... That is sooo funny that movie I think. I forwarded it to some freinds there changes hardware on macs all day. :) They loove it. But for me - One more reason not to buy a mac

s0nic69
i thought the ads were so funny when they were first out, but now i am getting so tired of them. They are on tv too much. It seems like a desperate act.... seems as if apple was in elementary, and just wants to be bullying windows... just speak about how good u are with video and pictues, and push ur strong points, dont trash talk the competition, it brings u down a level. HellboundIRL
I don't get whats funny about them. The ads on tv are so full of marketing lies that they just annoy me, I've seen them a few too many times at this stage....they just aren't funny at all. acnpt
It's kind of funny. But it is apple going a bit too far, but as long as it stays on a mac forum I don't mind too much. Can't remember seeing any MS ads aiming directly at the competition.

Humoer fails, eh? as some of the others said, this ad is pathetic.. is this the only way mac can advertise for this crapware? microsoft doesnt do unproffesional **** like this.. beside, vista is great, and i cant STAND using my moms mac.. spenser.d
LOL No matter what OS you use people have to admit that those ads are indeed funny No, we really don't. I think it's a pretty stupid ad and every time I see it on TV, I kinda want to shoot myself. And then it ends and I remember that, while Apple marketing is smart (they definitely hired the right guys to think up this stuff), it's not working, which is the most amusing part of the situation. -Spenser
Green_Eye
I am in no way bitter or offended by this I actually found this funny(in a sit com sort of way) but this advertising just does not work at least on 99.5% of people that I know. I know a bit about advertising having studies Media for a while and the "free advertising" thing just don't cut it here free advertising is not always good advertising and if people keep telling each other how they hate your product or company its useless that your name is getting out... For funny factor this is great but im afraid it also makes Apple look like kids. I just don't see how this could in anyway be threatening to Windows and I hope to God Windows don't try to launch an advertising campaign to get back at App0le that just would make em look stupid even if they did end up being funnier. Simon Veteran Posted November 22, 2007 Veteran Share Posted November 22, 2007 I can say from experience that these ads work. Since these ads came out, I know several people who have moved to a Mac, and people do talk about the ads. They are childish, but that's part of what's funny about them.
