I can confirm that it works. Those who do not have access to the latest builds will have to use the workaround suggested in this thread. The important thing is there will not be a problem when Win7 ships." I'll re-install my drivers and some run-times and try out some games that didn't work in 7100 (NWN2 for starters) and report back a bit later. Microsoft only publicly releases the major milestone builds; internal builds like this are not made available to the general public. Decided to do a fresh install - felt uneasy doing an upgrade as if I ran into any problems I couldn't rule out the upgrade. Fresh install seems swifter than 7100 so far, is looking good!
